Pool’s stock prices gained 3% in the trading session following the release of its mixed Q2 results on Jul. 24. The company observed continued growth in maintenance products and a slight improvement in discretionary spending. However, its net sales for the quarter increased by a marginal 83 bps year-over-year to $1.8 billion, missing the consensus estimates by 21 bps. On the positive note, its net income for the quarter inched up 95 bps year-over-year to $194.3 million, and EPS of $5.17 surpassed the consensus estimates by approximately 1%.

For the full fiscal 2025, ending in December, analysts expect Pool to deliver an EPS of $10.88, down 1.7% year-over-year. The company has a mixed earnings surprise history overall. While it surpassed the Street’s bottom-line projections thrice over the past four quarters, it missed the estimates on one other occasion.

The company has a consensus “Moderate Buy” rating overall. Of the 14 analysts covering the Pool stock, opinions include five “Strong Buys,” eight “Holds,” and one “Moderate Sell.”

This configuration has remained stable in recent months.

On Jul. 29, Oppenheimer analyst Scott Schneeberger reiterated an “Outperform” rating on Pool stock and raised the price target from $322 to $346.

As of writing, Pool’s mean price target of $331.45 represents a modest 4.1% premium to current price levels. Meanwhile, the street-high target of $375 suggests a 17.8% upside potential.
