Mitsubishi’s global output falls 9% in July

Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors Corporation reported a 9.3% decline in global production to 78,572 units in July 2025, down from 86,670 units in the same month last year. Production in Japan fell by almost 11% to 40,598 units, while overseas output declined by 8% to 37,974 units.

Sales in Japan rose by 11% to 10,726 units last month, while exports plunged by 29% to 14,728 units, reflecting a 75% drop in shipments to North America to 8,092 units.

In the first seven months of 2025, Mitsubishi produced 516,987 vehicles globally, down by almost 7% compared with 554,425 units in the same period last year. Domestic output declined by less than 2% to 280,206 units, while overseas production fell by 12% to 236,781 units. Sales in Japan rose by 6.5% to 71,858 units in this period, while exports fell by 5.5% to 126,225 units.
