ASML Says China Dispute Hasn't Touched Its Business

ASML (NASDAQ:ASML) is trying to bring a little calm back into the room after weeks of chatter about rising tensions between the Netherlands and China. CEO Christophe Fouquet basically said: we're fine. In a Dutch TV interview, he noted that the political dispute around the government's takeover of chipmaker Nexperia hasn't touched ASML's business so far.

Fouquet sounded almost relieved, saying the situation will not affect our business in the short term and suggesting the storm may already be clearing. He also hinted that the whole thing escalated faster than anyone expected and that conversations had they happened earlier might've prevented some of the drama.
The tension kicked off when the Dutch government took control of Nexperia, which is owned by China's Wingtech Technology. China reacted with a temporary export ban on Nexperia-made chips. That restriction was lifted earlier this month, removing the biggest immediate pressure point.
Now, a Dutch delegation is heading to China next week to smooth things over, which should help cool the relationship further. Fouquet's message is simple and reassuring: ASML hasn't seen any impact on orders, operations or customers.
